Design Engineer

You own how OpenCompany looks, feels, and works — from the dashboard where teams manage agents, to the CLI output, to the marketing site you're reading right now. Design happens in code here. Figma is for thinking, the browser is the deliverable.

We're building a team of geniuses. Not a team of "smart people" — actual geniuses who ship. You've built things before — maybe a company, maybe projects that people actually use. You want to work unreasonably hard on something that matters. If you fall short of that standard, you're wrong here.

What you will do

  • Design and build the UI for our dashboard, CLI, and marketing surfaces. You ship the final thing, not a handoff.
  • Define the visual language and interaction patterns for a product where humans review, approve, and collaborate with AI agents.
  • Sweat the details — typography, spacing, motion, empty states, error states. The craft is the product.
  • Work directly with engineering to make interfaces fast, accessible, and coherent across surfaces.

What we are looking for

  • You design in code. Strong with React, TypeScript, Tailwind, and modern frontend tooling. You've shipped polished product UI, not just prototypes.
  • Exceptional visual taste. You notice the 1px misalignment. You have opinions about font rendering. You've spent unreasonable time on a transition curve and it was worth it.
  • You've built and shipped your own projects. Portfolio of real, live products — not just case studies.
  • You can move fast without sacrificing craft. Small team means you'll own entire surfaces end to end.
  • High agency, low ego. You work incredibly hard and you just get things done. If that's not you, this is the wrong place.
  • Read our values before applying. We care about inner work as much as output.
